CanoaQuebrada - Pordosol Mirante
Canoa Quebrada is a beach village in Ceara installed on red sandstone cliffs in the neighborhood of Aracati. You can get everywhere by walking.

You’ll have a lot of things to do there, like walking along the beach. On the right side of the beach it’s calm, with not so many people in the natural pools. You can also go by buggy in the Dunes along the coast and go through the sea by Jangada (traditional fishing rafts with sail).

Canoa Quebrada offers optimal conditions for kitesurfing. With these extensive beaches, hot water and strong winds blows during the whole year. The best season is from July to February. All kitesurfing classes are on a lagoon called barra do Rio Jaguaribe located at 10km from Canoa Quebrada.

When it’s time to eat some residents put some tables and chairs in the yard to sell typical local food, this is my favorite. For the restaurants in the main street called Broadway, almost all of the owners are foreigners, so if you would like to eat a typical local food, it isn’t the best place.

Hotel

CanoaQuebrada - Pousada

Falesia Hotel –  I stayed here, it is a great place to stay. I chose a room on the first or second floor, so I had an amazing view of the ocean. The hotel is close to the main street and there are a lot of restaurants and bars. The entire hotel is clean, organized, near the beach and the staff are helpful. The breakfast has a variety of typical local food. They serve scrambled eggs, sausage, cakes, fruit, and natural juice with fruit from the region. My favorite food is Tapioca, and the one from this hotel was the best one. You can chose tapioca with butter or halloumi cheese.

Pousada-Toby

Pousada do Toby – A friend stayed here . In a quiet small corner near the beach with a spectacular view of the ocean and close to the main street with restaurants and bars. The staff at the hotel are always friendly, happy and eager to assist you. The rooms are clean and well functioned.

Getting there by bus

The São Benedito bus company has several daily direct buses from the central Fortaleza bus station (Rodoviária). During high season it is recommended to buy your tickets in advance. In Canoa Quebrada, the bus stop is located in front of the entertainment center, at the beginning of “Broadway” street (Main Street).
